Learn to create instant beauty with glissandos and beautiful improvisations. Together we will breathe, push and pull and sculpt music that will touch your heart. Learn the secret to playing beautiful phrases. We will put into practice our phrasing as we learn a traditional Shetland tune, The Unst Boat Song.
1:30pm-3:00pm • Sublime Arpeggios Workshop
Let's go beyond the basic chords and connect arpeggios into a soundscape. Use arpeggios as introductions, interludes and starting points for improvisation. Elevate your playing! For advanced beginners and beyond.
4:00pm-5:00pm • Concert: "Finding Light in Darkness"
Music inspired by stars, the northern lights, phosphorescence, and love.
$30 per workshop, $50 for both

Heather Cornelius will present a concert/presentation. The program includes world premieres of two new commissions (including a new work by Canadian harpist-composer Caroline Lizotte, who will be the composer in residence at the American Harp Society/World Harp Congress joint event “One Harp World” in 2026). The program also includes other music related to mental illness, as well as personal stories.
